TÜRK - TOB  (Turkey Union of Seed Raisers)

TÜRK - TOB  (Turkey Union of Seed raisers) is a professional association in the nature of public organization having legal entity established for the purpose of “developing the seed raising sector and ensuring the professional solidarity between the real persons or legal entities operating in the sector, facilitating the professional activities, ensuring the protection of the economical and social rights of those which deal with the seed raising activities and performing the duties which are assigned with the related written regulations” by the Law of seed raising numbered 5533 which is prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and accepted in TBMM (Turkish Grand National Assembly) and came into force in December 2006, and there are Plant Improvers Sub Union, Sapling Producers Sub Union, Ornament Plants Producers Sub Union, Seed Distributors Sub Union, Seed Industrialists and Producers Sub Union, Seed Raisers Sub Union in its structure.
The sub unions which complete their association are gathered together under the framework of Turkey Union of Seed raisers which is a professional superior association in the form of public organization having the legal entity for the purpose of developing the seed raising sector and ensuring the professional solidarity between the real persons or legal entities operating in the sector and performing the duties which are assigned by the regulation.

Turkey Union of Seed raisers is the uppermost establishment having the powers which are granted by the laws in the seed raising sector of our country.
Having the powers granted by the laws, as Turkey Union of Seed raisers;

Our duties are as follows:

• Forming an effective and sustainable seed raising supply system with the customer preference, quality focus, innovative and having high competitive power,
• Creating the just and competitive working environment in which private enterprise, free trade and ethical behaviors are considered basis,
• Making contribution to increasing the promotion of the members in the international area and increasing their competitive power,
• Ensuring the active participation and solidarity in the Union activities by means of taking basis the equality among the members.

Our targets are as follows;

• To develop the national policies which are special for the sector concerning developing and making widespread the plant varieties, production, supply and marketing of the seeds,
• To contribute effectively to making and applying the national and international administrative, technical and legal regulations in compliance with the policies developed,
• To ensure support to the technical and technological developments of the sub unions and members, and to defend their rights and benefits at every ground,
• To make contribution to the development of the national seed raising sector.

The law of seed raising obliged the real persons and legal entities operating relating to the seed raising business to be member in the sub union relating to their activity subjects. Thus, the sector member real persons and legal entities which improve, produce, raise and distribute every seed cultivated and every sapling, seeding and ornamental plants planted in the lands of our country gathered together under the framework of Turkey Union of Seed raisers which is the only authorized representative of the seed raising sector of our country and also a non-governmental organization which takes its powers and responsibilities from the law.
